The North Fort Myers Democratic Club held its 1st Annual Chili Cookoff with entries from  most clubs in Lee County.on Saturday, June 18.

The judges were State Senator Dave Aronberg, School Board Member Jane Kuckel, and Democratic Executive Committee Chair Lyundia Bradley.

The winning chili was a product of the Cape Coral Club.  The Bonita Springs entry earned the second prize.

Dave Aronberg gave an excellent speech to highlight the evenig.  He displayed the optimism and energy which make him a respected member of the Florida Senate.

Jim Watson used his version of a long-time family recipe for the second place winner representing the Democratic Club of Bonita Springs and South Lee County.  Martha Simons added a late entry of a favored vegetarian chili.  Larry Jackson and Bill Simons were there as well from Bonita.

The Democratic themes and comeraderie made for a nice evening after some delicious chili.
